About TEAM
A Stagwell Global agency delivering 100,000+ brand activations annually
For over 30 years, TEAM has led advertising excellence, crafting transformative brand experiences that resonate deeply with audiences. As a part of Stagwell Global, they leverage the strategic power and resources of the world’s fastest-growing network with the agility and creativity of a boutique agency.
TEAM delivers over 100,000 brand activations annually for clients including YouTube, AWS, MINI, Bacardi, and Cannes Lions. Recent work includes Cannes Sport Beach 2025 and AWS re:Invent, showcasing their expertise across diverse industries and high-profile events.
The Challenge
Fragmented workflows burdened by manual tagging
TEAM brings over 100,000 brand activations to life every year, generating an enormous volume of files, assets, and projects that must be cataloged across categories like logo detection, facial recognition, and location. At this scale, speed and accuracy are critical—especially as files come in countless formats and need to remain remotely accessible for a distributed team.
Before Shade, TEAM relied on a fragmented workflow split between Box and Frame.io. Constant transfers between the two platforms bogged down projects and created friction. The launch of Frame.io V4 only made things worse, dismantling carefully built workflows and leaving the team scrambling for stability. As the organization grew, the absence of a unified system made it nearly impossible to maintain a single source of truth for searching, organizing, and sharing files. TEAM needed a smarter, faster, all-in-one solution to restore order and keep pace with its expanding operations.

Introduction to Shade
Refocusing on creativity, not file management
TEAM turned to Shade to solve their most pressing challenges around file organization and workflow efficiency. At the top of the list was an automated metadata tagging system that could keep pace with both the volume and complexity of their work. For major projects like Cannes Sport Beach 2025 and AWS re:Invent, this meant tagging critical details such as speakers, venues, sponsors, and licensing requirements—without slowing down the creative process.
Shade’s advanced facial and logo recognition capabilities immediately stood out, giving TEAM the ability to surface and categorize assets with precision at scale. Just as importantly, Shade worked seamlessly in the background, automatically tagging and organizing files as the team moved through their existing workflow. This allowed TEAM to stay focused on execution while knowing their growing content library was being intelligently structured for easy access, search, and sharing.
Their New Workflow
Automating overhead for Cannes Sport Beach 2025
Cannes Sport Beach 2025 is a clear example of how TEAM structured one of its largest and most complex projects with Shade. For this event, Shade served as the backbone of their content operations: TEAM configured over 15 custom metadata properties and built collections tailored to the needs of clients, vendors, and use cases. This foundation enabled a streamlined, end-to-end workflow.
Prior to the event, TEAM had already migrated fully from Box and Frame.io into Shade, consolidating everything into a single, reliable system of record. With this unified hub, onboarding new clients and editors is faster and more intuitive, while powerful search makes even the largest projects manageable. Real-time file syncing has been another game-changer: edits, exports, and updates flow instantly into Shade, where they can be reviewed and delivered to clients without ever leaving the platform.
Present Outcome
Accelerating content production, distribution, and delivery with intelligent AI
In the days following Cannes Sport Beach 2025, Shade’s impact was immediate. In just three days, more than 500,000 assets were automatically tagged and labeled by Shade’s AI, creating instant organization that allowed TEAM to accelerate content production, distribution, and delivery.
