We've introduced comprehensive visual annotation capabilities, allowing you to draw on video and images directly within comments. This pairs with our new ranged-based commenting feature, enabling precise feedback on specific sections of media without needing to export files.

Collection management: Directories can now be added to collections for better organization alongside files, giving you more flexible ways to curate your content.

Geographic Performance & Media Playback

Performance improvements across regions:

• Uploads and downloads from us-east-1 regions significantly accelerated

• Video scrubbing and preview loading now more responsive with reduced server round trips

• Overall application latencies reduced

• Directory listings on web and app substantially faster with more consistent performance

Logged-in users can now open shared links in the app from the web or in a new tab, creating a seamless experience across platforms.

Facial Recognition & Advanced Features

The facial recognition system received major improvements including better merging of individuals, the ability to move faces between individuals, face deletion functionality, and the ability to create new individuals from selected faces. Web-playable format videos now play back instantly using source video (beta), eliminating proxy wait times entirely.

Additional improvements:

• Admins can now delete any comments, regardless of creator

• R2 drives no longer throw application errors on mount

• Comment timestamps can now be edited after creation

• Videos eligible for the fast proxy queue are now consistently placed there

• Windows file pinning now displays status and progress

• Fixed download entire folder functionality

ShadeFS Desktop Integration

Finder now displays uploading, downloading, pinning status, and is-pinned indicators for files, giving you real-time visibility into your file operations. ShadeFS is now fully case insensitive for better cross-platform compatibility. Numerous small fixes and improvements have been made to upload operations and overall reliability.
