Speed Across the Board

This release delivers massive speed improvements across the entire platform. The desktop app now uploads and downloads 2–3× faster than competitors, with 5Gbps+ throughput from our New York office. We've completely rewritten and expanded the desktop app's capabilities to handle extreme throughput scenarios.

Transfer speed improvements:

• Download speeds exceed 4Gbps

• Upload speeds exceed 5Gbps

• Multipart pinning enables ShadeFS download speeds exceeding 3Gbps

Infrastructure enhancements:

• New active/mountable drives now use a vastly faster globally distributed storage backend

• Directory listing latencies dramatically reduced

• Processing time for platform uploads substantially decreased

• Large tree operations now reflect much more quickly in the web interface

File Organization & Developer Tools

Version stacking: Drag two files onto each other to create a stack for better organization and version management. Webhooks have been added to workspace settings—open the Dashboard to configure event listeners for custom integrations.

Indexing performance: Time to start indexing large files (40–100GB) reduced by ~10×, with generally lower queuing times before assets begin processing.

Media Processing & Notifications

PDF previews now render the first page as a thumbnail for PDFs under 15MB, giving you instant visual context without opening files. Workspace notifications now propagate for comments on assets you're mentioned in and when you're added to workspaces.

Sync improvements: Vastly faster merging of changes from other users, with numerous small bug fixes and enhanced reliability throughout the sync layer.
