Introducing Shade and What’s Next in 2026

11 min

In our recent webinar, “Reimagining Workflows: How FieldWrk & HelloFresh Use AI in Post-Production,” co-hosted with Henry Stewart, Brandon walked through what Shade is, the core problems it solves around fragmented workflows and data silos, and the upcoming features we’re building to make creative production faster and more scalable.

We’re introducing a built-in automation engine designed to reduce manual work across the creative lifecycle. Teams will be able to automatically organize assets (for example, grouping all drone shots), trigger actions when files are uploaded or approved, and send updates or notifications without manual follow-up. The goal is to eliminate repetitive tasks and streamline coordination across teams.

Custom Objects extend metadata beyond individual assets and bring more structure to workflows. Instead of only tagging files, teams can define objects such as clients, campaigns, events, or projects, and link them directly to assets. This creates a more organized and scalable way to manage content across different use cases.

AI Search (Next Evolution) builds on Shade’s existing capabilities across scenes, faces, and metadata. The next phase focuses on more precise and flexible retrieval, including the ability to find exact moments within videos and pull those clips directly into editing workflows.

Stay tuned for upcoming blog posts as we roll out these features.
