How to Automate Your Entire Creative Workflow with Shade
45 min
Last week, we hosted a live build session with our CEO Brandon to walk through something we've been building toward for a while — a fully automated, end-to-end creative workflow inside Shade.
If you missed it, here's what we covered.
The Workflow We Built Live
We walked through a real workflow we use internally at Shade for publishing our Feature Friday series, from pre-production all the way to delivery on YouTube and social.
A new task created in Linear automatically generates a corresponding custom object in Shade, which syncs project management directly with the editing process. From there, Shade takes over: proxies are generated automatically on ingest, Opus Clip processes the footage to create social-ready clips, and once the edit is approved, the video is published straight to YouTube.
What You Can Build with Automations
The workflow above is just one example. During the session we also covered:
Auto-generating edit-ready proxies the moment footage is uploaded
Multi-step review and approval chains that move projects forward without manual follow-up
Automatic share link creation and delivery to the right reviewer the moment an export lands in a folder
Social clipping workflows that connect Shade to tools like Opus Clip and publish directly to Instagram
A Sneak Peek at AskShade
We also gave an early look at AskShade — our upcoming agent workflow that will let you prompt Shade in natural language to kick off complex processes: removing black frames, generating proxies, creating XML files, and more. AskShade is designed to handle the busy work so your team can focus on creating.
What's Coming Next
Integrations with Monday.com, Notion, Vimeo, Basecamp, and more are on the roadmap. The goal is simple: make Shade the center of your creative workflow, connected to every tool on both ends.
