Line Producer

Definition

The Line Producer is the production professional responsible for the day-to-day management of the production budget and the physical logistics of the shoot. Working under the producer, the Line Producer creates and manages the detailed production budget, hires the crew, negotiates with vendors and suppliers, manages the production office, and ensures that the production is operating efficiently and within budget. The "line" in Line Producer refers to the line in the budget that separates the Above The Line costs from the Below The Line costs.
