ShareGrid

ShareGrid

Portland, OR21 products6 stages

ShareGrid is the largest and most trusted camera sharing community. It was built to give artists freedom, providing them access to the tools they need and the financial freedom they desire in order to focus on their craft. The platform's roots began when a photographer and a filmmaker decided to combine their passion for cameras and their love of technology to enable access to idle gear for aspiring creatives. With the launch of the first ShareGrid community in Los Angeles in 2015, ShareGrid soon grew nationwide to a network of over 150,000 video and photo artists around the US coming together to share over $1 billion of creative gear with each other. In 2022, ShareGrid joined the Backstage family of brands to grow its trusted community even further.

Open Signal

Open Signal is a media arts center in Portland, Oregon. Our mission is to nurture the change-making power of community media in service of a just and equitable world. Launched in January 2017, Open Signal builds upon the legacy of Portland Community Media (PCM), an organization that worked with thousands of Portlanders to access video and television technology during its 35-year history. Our primary support comes from a grant agreement with the Mt. Hood Cable Regulatory Commission, in partnership with the City of Portland Office for Community Technology. Additional support comes from local foundations, businesses and other government entities. Open Signal is committed to equity. We believe that when we center and address the needs of those with lived experience of oppression, we are tipping the balance of power toward equity.

Central Rentals

Portland, OR29 products

CENTRAL is your one stop shop for vehicles, production supplies, and shoot support. Our inventory is clean and well-maintained. We've learned a lot over the years about what it takes for things to go smoothly, and we've designed Central with that in mind. A Camera, Head, and Sticks are all you really need to get a shot. But adding simple accessories like a base plate, rods, matte box, and power distribution can allow you to work more quickly. Oh, and did we mention we also have mics, mixers, and DACs? Basecamp isn't always near set, and internet access is well you know... kind of expected. The sun is great, but sometimes you need to tweak it a bit. Crew members and clients are much happier when they are warm, have a chair, and aren't stuffing their garbage in their pockets.
