MediaSilo supports organization based projects and folders which have to be created manually. Metadata-driven asset organization by MediaSilo offers limited search power, manual tagging capability and also limited scrubbable previews and assets. Even after cataloguing folders of assets, users fine it difficult to find a specific file when the file does not have enough tags or search words. EXIF data is also not searchable within MediaSilo.

When to use MediaSilo over Shade
MediaSilo is well designed for video workflows and can be expensive as you scale with more and more assets. If you are predominantly using a DAM today to manage “final assets” that you would like to publish and or collaborate with users. MediaSilo might make sense and could replace your Frame.io that you might be using today.
